About the role

Muon seeks an experienced Buyer I with an emphasis on Electronic PCBA component purchasing. Buyer will act as the tactical arm of the purchasing team, focused on day-to-day operations, material replenishment, and ensuring that component shortages do not stop production.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase Order (PO) Execution: Generate, process, and track purchase orders for PCB components, raw boards, and assembly services.
  • Expediting: Actively monitor vendor deliveries to ensure on-time arrival, contacting suppliers to expedite parts as necessary.
  • MRP/ERP Management: Review daily MRP signals, maintain accurate lead times, order minimums (MOQ), and safety stock levels in the ERP system.
  • BOM Analysis: Analyze Bills of Materials for component availability, lifecycle status, and identification of approved alternates.
  • Data Integrity: Maintain accurate supplier and item records, such as cost information and approved vendor lists.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of procurement experience, preferably in electronics or manufacturing.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic components (capacitors, resistors, ICs).
  • Proficiency in ERP software (e.g., Syteline, SAP, Oracle)

Nice-to-have Skills

  • Supplier Relationship Management: Manage supplier performance, including monitoring on-time delivery (OTD) and quality metrics (QPPM) via scorecards.
  • Cost Reduction & Negotiation: Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities through competitive bidding, value engineering, and long-term supplier agreements.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement strategies to mitigate supply risk for single/sole-sourced components, particularly in high-risk areas.
  • NPI Support: Procure materials for New Product Introduction (NPI) to support tight time-to-market needs.
  • Supplier Audits: Participate in, or lead, supplier facility audits to verify quality systems and capacity.

Salary

The salary range for this role is $91,125-$101,500 plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
