Smarter Alloys is a world leader in smart materials innovation, pioneering advanced shape memory alloys for applications in medical devices, cleantech, automotive, and beyond. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to help scale and optimize our financial operations as we continue to grow.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in our finance function. You will be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements and managing accounts receivable and payable, including reconciliations with customers and suppliers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal tax laws and accounting regulations
- Perform reconciliations on bank accounts and customer and supplier statements
- Collaborate with the CFO and Controller to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Contribute to the implementation of accounting policies and internal controls
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field
- 2–3 years of experience in an accounting role
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience with Sage 50 accounting software (preferred)
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Recently designated CPA or currently enrolled in a CPA program
