Smarter Alloys is a world leader in smart materials innovation, pioneering advanced shape memory alloys for applications in medical devices, cleantech, automotive, and beyond. We are looking for a Intermediate Accountant to help scale and optimize our financial operations as we continue to grow.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Intermediate Accountant, you will play a critical role in our finance function. You will be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements and managing accounts receivable and payable, including reconciliations with banks, customers and suppliers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal tax laws and accounting regulations
  • Perform reconciliations on bank accounts and customer and supplier statements
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Team to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Contribute to the implementation of accounting policies and internal controls

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • 2–3 years of experience in an accounting role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Sage 50 accounting software
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
